I couldn't help notice how cheap your commission is. That evens out to about 200 trade a day. Granted that you're trading only 1 contract, that's an average of about 20-cents per lot. Who's your broker? That's even lower than Interactive Brokers. IB's lowest tiered commission for those who trade more than 20,000 contracts is pegged at 25-cents per lot. In your case, you would need to fork over 65-cents per lot.
I'm not trading 1 contract. I'm usually between 3-5. I sometimes over trade, but I try to finish trading by 1300ish. There aren't many trends worth trading per day anyway. I also don't trade every day. I was with OEC before they were acquired by Gain Capital. Still use the OEC Trader. You might check with stage 5 trading, they were offering cheaper.
Oh man, I love it. Looks like Thanksgiving lasted the entire month of Nov for you. Good for you; your pnl updates are a highlight of my ET month. Cheers.
No sooner was I positive on my account - making money/breaking even for 3 months - that I decide to trade more than I can psychologically handle ("only" 5-10 lots). In 2 days early Dec I lost 11k (-5k and -6k). If I'd paid any attention to the daily chart, I could have easily avoided those losses as I was mostly betting long. That set the tone for the rest of the month and I continued to lose nearly every day I traded; I skip too many trades or don't hold winners for fear of losing. I closed out the year approx -15k for December. I'm too ashamed to even look at the exact numbers in my trading account or in my monthly statement. Anyway, I will not keep a journal here. I know what proper trading looks like and the only reason I don't make money is because of mistakes/psychological issues. I have to go back to that point where I don't care about trading or making money. I'm going to trade 1 contract till I can recoup the 15k I've lost.
