Didn't expect you to say that....I was thinking that since you predominantly trade options, you would have made a small fortune.

  2. Trading what you think instead of what you see is the kiss of death. The pattern in the mkt is very similar to 2007 -2009. You’ll get a bounce but don’t believe we are going to see new all time highs until a major correction occurs. And yes, this latest move down is just the beginning of what is to come.

Your 2nd and subsequent sentences contradict your 1st sentence!

  4. Most likely got killed trying to fade strong trends again, this is not the first time this has happened and it certainly won't be the last.

Not to learn from mistakes is worse than losing money.

  6. How so? I see a pattern and plan the trade accordingly. If it does not work out I get out and figure out next set up. I don’t keep holding on because I have an opinion.

Up the stairs, down the elevator. So goes the market.

    Merry Xmas all.

A few of us have been waiting curiously for the year's end report, specially concerning your last post. Also maybe you could start a new Journal with 2019 in the title?

    Period Update 09/30/2018 - 1/4/2019
    ----------

Horrible 3 months to end the year, down 73K (39%). For the year down 39.7K (23%)

Not sure how to explain it. The increased volatility was detrimental to my account. Ordinarily I should be doing better from my historical pattern. This time looks like everything was different, and years of being accustomed to low volatility was tough to change in my strategies. The most ugly thing in this is that there is no strategy I could run to. As at the end of August, I was up +101K; my best performing strategy was up 171K (meaning the rest of the strategies were losing 70K). Just thereafter, suffered some stupefying reversal, dropping 140K on that strategy, to close up only +30K on the strategy. Too many questions now, as I am basically doing light trading at the moment.
