I think neke began to live above his means. Thats a lot of pressure to put on your trading performance. As if trading isnt hard enough already
When you have 60k in expenses a year...you need a 500k account, which isn't too hard if you work smart during your lifetime. with 24k expenses a year, you need 100k. with 12k expenses (live at home), you need 50k. this is why you have others give you money.....work, guru, etc.. I say risk it all on one smart trade.... better than slow death... now turn this into 2 million, then raise 200 million in capital to trade, and live a good life.....
Well, he said this is only his side job and he has another day job. So why he would need $100k a year? Over the years, he has pulled a lot of $. Hope he did not spend all of that in expendable expenses. With the amount of $ he started, it seems this is just fun for him. Trading is exciting and it won't ruin him if he has a good day job.
Fun for him? Fun is going to a casino and putting it on red or black. Trading is a business, anyone that treats it otherwise will evetually blow up cause they r trading with emotions.
Clearly this is enjoyment for HIM. Even with his balancing dropping below $100k, he still drew $$ from his account. And it appears he has not changed much of the way he traded. It is still fun to read the thread and learnt something from it. It he started from almost $0, pulled about 1/2 mill and still has some $$ left, what has he lost? He has tons of time to kill.
So if you win half million on the lottery and I steal it from you, you won't even report me to the police, right? You lost nothing, easy come easy go... Irrefutable logic, bro, I hope you ain't mad about that half mill...... And yes, he lost at least time, he spent 20 hours per week on his system.... A complete reversal of fortune....
That was nasty but hilarious This is a great series of thread in showing how initial success doesn't mean anything. I realized Neke had problems when he posted his PF which was around 1.2. Can't sustain profitable trading over a long time doing options if your pf is so low. When vol returns and if neke can maintain his form, his 1.2 pf will become 1.4/1.5 pf and he will start making money again. Till then ----- audience needs to wait!
Yes, still trading, although like you already know, the balance is still well below $100K. Will give a mid-year update at the end of June (unless of course the balance comes above 100K in which case it will happen sooner).
