Let's see, being asked not to post by a naive sub 20 post count alias. Neke's still losing, because he has no edge, and hasn't posted his backtested equity curve. Sure, he's going to the moon.
So since you ignore the substance, like a backtesting engine that doesn't work, what's not constructive about that? His backtests haven't worked out since moving to automation, and this is very likely due to the TOS/TD Ameritrade platform he is on. If you don't see that as constructive, you are just as naive as neke's ignorance, and any well-wisher that doesn't know the difference, or that there are better backtesters than the one he's using.
No, I still have my regular job. Whatever I am pulling here is supplementary. It's just unfortunate it has grown to be almost what I am getting from the other job net. Might have to cut down if things do not improve.
That's good, having a supplementary income doesn't make trading a make-or-break proposition. Though it would have given the title, "The Battle for Survival", a more dramatic undertone. I've been trading 6 months FT as my only source of income. Luv the independence but not the income insecurity.
Weekly Update for week 8/50 ended 3/9/2012 Positive week, up 9.2K (5%). Good collection of gains and no major losses to report. My system is now ensuring no position gets averaged down on. Once more at (almost) break-even for the year for the 3rd time. Hopefully there could be some take-off sometime soon. Nice to see you getting a positive return. You deserve it. Those who had put on a trade or two know very well how hard it is to keep on going after getting hit by the markets. I salute you Neke.
Weekly Update for week 9/50 ended 3/17/2012 Great week, up 14K (7.5%). Most of the action this week is centred in AAPL options. Scored 2 out of 4, but the winners far outsized the losers. Faded on Tues (bought AAPL PUT), lost 4.2K. Faded again on Wed (triggered trade, albeit on smaller size since I was away all day), surpised to see the stock up 21pts at end of day, lost 5.8K, Faded the final gap up on Thursday, this time hit it right making +12K. Long CALL the morning sell-off on Fri, again +13K. Pleased there is no more case of averaging down (or it could have been worse on Tues/Wed). Code: Opening Balance: 191,307 Net gain for the week 14,371 ------------------------------------------------ Net Balance: 205,678 Since Inception of Thread 01/18/2012 - 03/17/2012 Opening Balance: 203,729 Net gain 13,949 (up 6.8%) Cash Withdrawal (12,000) ------------------------------------------------ Net Balance 205,678
Sounds like you started trading and stopped the bullshit that it was ruining you in the past. Keep it up!
