    Neke,

Think back to the middle of 2009, how were you trading, what was your attitude and mental state of mind when it came to trading? How was your trading discipline?

Trading is at least 80% mental.

With the right state of mind you can accomplish miracles:

I think the title of this thread doomed the effort: too much presumption.

  6. presumption?

are you talking about poster being presumptuous?

or are you saying that those suckers readers and respondents are....?

    L O L

there is no need to respond.

it appears EVERYONE WISHES NEKE TO DO WELL AND RECOVER....

except neke.... who wishes to pursue his/her own interests and does not give a hood of others....

neke, whence areth thou going to come out off your shell and

    DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT

to regain your former statue of a sharp and acute trader.... it has been a long while, my friend....

yes, it is your prerogative to remain in that fetus position to regain comfort of being irresponsible to not only yourself but to your family members as well....

opppppp, sorry, neke.... i really ought not say that since we hardly know each other.... my apology, neke.... but as a trader, my comments stand.... THERE ARE MORE TRADERS HERE WHO ARE FOR YOU AND WISH TO SEE YOU RAPIDLY REGAINING AND RECOVERING ALL YOUR LOSSES.... and i humbly am one among those....

however, from another trader's point of view and perspective.... neke, you are hardly doing anything NEW for yourself in terms of trying to recuperate your former wealth and fame.... SUCH A WASTE OF ABUNDANTLY BLESSED TALENTS....

31% this week, I would I been able to pay for a friends four undergraduate years on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday.

Sorry for being callous, but the market is and will be far worse. If he (neke) frankly started taking many of the good advice points and stopped trading three weeks ago, he would of saved money and of been well underway formulating knowledge, a plan and most importantly getting the insights of MM (I.e. hf managers and other trustworthy street guys). $0.02

  8. Well, I don't think the decline has stopped. Be careful about your settings in strategy desk. Intrabar order calculations, that is calculations that occur during the bar versus on the close cause strategies to overtrade and one way to overcome this is to limit the number of entries to different strategy signals and to take each order command as an entry or exit once.

I think you should wait till you have a system winning 30 in 31 days.

I took a look at the trades for the week quoted. Indeed times have changed since then:

    1) I do not use a lot of leverage in my trades. A couple of trades that week were for a size twice my account value (after averaging down). I don't do anywhere that relative size now, and I do not average down any more.
    2) I am limiting my self to only a few discretionary trades per week now. That week I made 27 discretionary trades. This week, it was only 6.
    3) Some of the strategies used then don't work anymore. They are actually negative expectancy this year (regressing to the mean) even without averaging down or revenge trading.

So yes, it is going back to slugging it out until good times come my way again.
