I only see that there is a similarity between southamerica and the US team.

Good game , Cafu was a best on the field by far...Kaka , Dida and R.Carlos were good too. As far for a forwards...bring back Romario and Bebeto.

I didnt like the way brazil play this game, this a moral victory to croatia.

They will. The big one is against Australia. How many Croatians playing for Australia ? It will be like a derby.

SouthAmerica: Yes, I know.

Not many people know how to play soccer like the Brazilians.

I can’t make any comments on the Olympic games since the last time I did watch any of it was the 1988 Olympic games in Korea. I got bored with the Olympics a long time ago with the amount of commercials that they show during the broadcast, besides 80 percent of the time they show little stories about the athletes’ personal lives; about their grandmother, mom and dad, uncles, nieces and so on - And they show very little soccer the only Olympic sport I really care about.

Some day the United States will become world contenders – but not as long I see American kids learning soccer on soccer clinics in Long Island, and other upper scale neighborhoods – I will know when the United States is becoming a major force when I take a trip and drive around Newark. New Jersey and the black kids are playing soccer in the middle of the street instead of basketball.

Most of the Brazilians soccer players come from the poor neighborhoods.

You said: “we are developing a group of very talented teens like the phenomenal Freddy Abdu.”

But he was not an American – Freddy Abdu born somewhere in Africa.

If you want to adopt a bunch of Africans who can play soccer very well then you should suggest to the US soccer association to adopt the entire team of the Ivory Coast – In my opinion the Ivory Coast has been the best African team on this competition so far – they did play a terrific game against Argentina.

Regarding the Brazilian playing – that is the standard way of Brazil playing on most world cups – Brazil starts slowly and improves with every new game until they reach the top of its form in the last game of the competition.

Don’t forget these Brazilian players play all over the place and they got together only 3 weeks before the world cup stated – they had not been playing together since they did qualify for the world cup in November of 2005. It takes a few games for them to gel and start playing as a team.

The Brazilian team has a very vulnerable area – its defense – and I almost have a heart attack because of these guys. Brazil has to score more goals every game to guaranty the result because with this defense anything can go wrong at any time.

The Brazilians were expecting that the Croats would bunch in the defense – which makes it very hard to score, but some other teams will play a more open game.

By the way, last Friday during the training section the reserves of the Brazilian national team beat the starters 3 X 0 – with two goals of Juninho, and one from Fred.

But somehow Brazil will manage to get to the final.
