2006 World Cup in Germany - Soccer

After watching the final.

It looked like the French SHOULD have won the game, based on the overall performance, but in the end, Italy won it all.

I have Italian in my family, I was routing for them anyways, but still thought the French put on a great performance, definately a shame what Zidane did, that was a bonehead move. *literally*

I guess it's another 4 years until the USA can get it's act together, I wonder what will happen with the coaching job for USA.

I'm sure Italy will be celebrating for a good long time though

 

The World Cup officiating was horrible!!! To make matters worst too many players were flopping and acting hurt.

SouthAmerica: I can’t understand why a player of the caliber of Zidane make such a mistake in overtime of a world cup final game – and at that point his team still had a chance to win the game in the overtime period.

I have no idea what the Italian player said to Zidane to make him react like a rookie.

The best Italian player of the tournament was the goalkeeper – Buffon.

Buffon deserves to win the golden ball since he saved the Italian team a number of times. He made some spectacular saves.

That header of Zidane in overtime would have been a goal against most world-class goalkeepers.

When the game went to penalty shots I knew that the Italians were going to win – because Buffon is 10 times better as a goalkeeper than the French goalkeeper. Besides the French goalkeeper was very short, and even if he guessed the correct side where they were kicking the penalty shot - he could not reach it because his arms were too short.

convenire e capire perfettamente.

 

Gli italiano si sono troppo stancati durante la prima metta, ma imagino che questo fa parte del loro gioco energico. Dopo, gli francesi erano capace di conservare il pallone con mooolta calma durante quasi tutto il tempo migliorando poco a poco la loro attaca. Pensavo veramente che stavano per vincere.
