SouthAmerica: Why the USA coach did not replace one of the American forwards with Freddy Abdu?

Why he is not playing for the USA squad?

The USA had a very good game against the Italians.

So far the biggest problem with this world cup has been the job provided by the referees - most of them are making a lot of mistakes.

  2. Freddy Adu is not on the national squad. He has yet to prove he can play at that level yet. He still has a lot of growing up to do. I watch a lot of the DC United matches. Freddy does make an impact, but more often then not I see him trying to make amazing passes or go 1 on 1 and he just doesn't finish through it.

He might definately be the future of US Soccer, but he isn't at that level just yet.

Agreed..... USA might have had a shot at getting a game winning goal if things were even. One red card for both sides, fine, it's even. But to give the USA 2 red cards, when both occasions being red-carded didn't warrant it. It's just BS and I think the referee just wants to look like he is more important than the players.

What better moment does a referee get than to blow his whistle, order a guy to come to him and flash a red card like he is da man. It's sad, but I think this ref got caught up in the moment.

    FIFA better fix these referee's....

I'm ashamed of my team. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll go throw up.

...soccer is a simple game in which 22 players run around after a ball and in the end Germany always wins :D

I hope in the eighth final we will play against England and after 120 minutes the penalty decides :p

SouthAmerica: I found interesting this article published on "A Folha de Sao Paulo" today - regarding the positive influence that Brazilian soccer is having on Pakistan during the world cup.

“Seleção brasileira reduz criminalidade no Paquistão”
    By PEDRO SCHAFFA

  10. The thing America has going for them is fitness. We saw last time that a Korean side that was well rested was able to outplay better teams in the heat. The good thing is that their next opponents are Africans. The bad thing is that 2 of the Ghanains attacking players miss the match.(Hopefully that ju-ju man wearing the wig and a pot on his head will be on top form).

I've never seen an adult (especially a sports(wo)man) not know where their legs were to the extent of Owen yesterday.(Hope he hasn't got a neurological complaint).
