    Covertibility.....

I think Don is giving an example of someone who lives in a state in which one would be paying a 10% state tax on, for example, $120,000. Then, he points out that the money could be better spent on other, more important things, if one lived in Nevada.

  2. If one lived in Nevada, he/she/it would be paying 10% state tax according to the article.

  3. Move to Tenn. No state income tax. On the weekends you can go down to the court house and trade pocket knives.:p

Move to FL. On the weekends you can take drop dead gorgeous chics out on your yacht and pay for it with the money you are not spending on state income taxes. :D

If that is what the article states, then I can understand your questioning. Guess maybe Don needs to come in and provide some clarity. (Or maybe he means you could win it all back in Las Vegas anyway!!:) )

  7. Gee, Mav.....FLORIDA? Do you know about our "intangible tax"?
A tax on the very richest? How un-Republican can you get?

    Peace,
    :)RS

  9. For $10,000,000 of stocks, bonds, etc. the tax is $10,000. Clearly a Republican tax, no wonder Gore lost Florida, thank goodness. RS7 doesn't have to worry though, any taxpayer with $60 or less due, don't even have to file.:D

OK, well since RS isn't answering I take it the tax looks like its one tenth of one percent which is nothing. So what's the big deal about this. State income taxes in NY and CA are 10%. One hundred times larger then this stupid tax. So what was his point? Granted all taxes are bad but this tax is like bread crumbs.
