  3. Yes I have lost $17,000 this year; what's so hard to grasp?

It was a crummy year for me..I am OK w/ that, on to 2003!

  4. First quarter down $1150
    Second up $12,750
    Third up $7,300
    Fourth-to-date up $19,600
    -------------------------------
YTD: $38,500 or 154% return on the average balance of 25k

Trading acct of 25k; I sweep the excess

First quarter I was still adjusting my trading style. 3rd Q I started trading the futures and also got smoked by some of that July volatility. 4th Q mostly trading the ES/NQ.

Above figures are on a pro forma basis (just kidding) :D

  6. This year has been ok for me. I did daytrades uniquely. Started with 30K and currently have 65K. I do enjoy being all cash at the end of the day and may keep doing daytrades even though we are entering a bull market.

  8. For my first year of trading...

$-5,000 for first ytd started with 22k

I will be entering next year's phase with 30k and hope to be break even at least by next year's end. I have learned a bundle on that 5k tuition...not the least of which was the fact that I paid out 1/3 of the 5k in commissions.

Well i'll leave it at that.

  9. As of oct 15, I was up 63% (this includes open losses in THV at market). I took a large hit on THC and didn't calculate a figure on NOV 1 (I usually calculate every half month). I assume that I'm probably around +50-55% now on the year (this includes THC/OMG losses that I closed out and open losses in THV at market but offset somewhat by large gains in DDN and a few other microcaps)

I have a problem with using the daily closes of microcap stocks to calculate returns. I think that the results that occur are quite irregular. However, on my acct which I use for daytrading and I sweep out the profits, I am up about 300% on.

  10. Damn, I hate these reality checks. I'm about even. Started out well in May but was shot down in July. Didn't trade much of August through October as I felt market conditions were extreme and atypical and my system could not be counted on. I have high hopes however. This next year should really be the telling point, no more excuses.
