I sim traded for over a year before I traded a live account. I honestly don't think it should take that long to become consistently profitable. $2,000 a day is very reasonable. Here's how: 20 contracts on ES 5 points average a day = $5,000 a day If you trade 200 days a year, that's $1,000,000. Pick a simple style that works for you. Check out my blog... Yup that's why you had to quote me twice when I put you on the spot. I must have hit a nerve. You could have just a) ignored me, b) Answer simply without trying to resort to personal attacks or c) Go off with personal attacks because you are too butthurt that someone sees through your BS. Not quite so good today (a little more than 1/2 what I made yesterday), but still alright by my standards. Total on the day, $510.00 Thanks for your post John47, you really broght the thread up a notch, and your honesty and candor are greatly appreciated. Today I'm posting to illustrate the fact that when a market has less range, you are going to make less money. While it should be obvious to the experienced traders, it isn't to someone who is new, and that is why they will as a question based on fixed dollar terms only. Good trading.
I don't think this applies as much (or even at all !) to guys who are scalping larger size in the e-minis. Can anyone speak up on this ?
