In conclusion, if someone has precise timing with options...they can get seriously rewarded. Timing is Everything. That's a profound and ingenious concept in the market. He made 3X his money in three weeks. A lot of people have done that. Not necessarily converting 25 million into 100 million, but on a smaller scale...a lot of people have done this. He's a gambler, though. Unless he can do that over and over again....that was a fluke success story. There are a lot of fluke success stories across wall street and the industry of trading.
Precise timing? How do you suggest to time it precisely with names like BBBY? The day it doubled it could as well have gone to zero. A deadbeat company with zero fundamental reason to save. If you are willing to bet the farm on some technical breakout caused by someone pumping the stock then that's your gamblers mentality.
Very conspicuous that this much money was given to this dude so he can go all-in on BBBY at the bottom. Most likely he was a proxy front for someone else in the family or family's circle that 'curiously' nailed the timing but didn't want their name on it because of either their history or their connections.
Is he authorized for such activity by "The Regulators", lol. Plenty there for a few well placed bribes, but if not done correctly, then his backers may have a leetle trouble keeping their tits outta the ringer. IRS, SEC, RICO, Anti Money Laundering Laws, time will tell if these guys know who do grease and so forth. Bidnez is Bidnez. Good to see some private enterprise get in the game. Do you know how many of these it takes to add up to $80Billion scams the govt walks across the stage on a monthly basis? Get 'em Skyler!
Amateurs think about how much money they can make. Professionals think about how much money they could lose. I think he was successful for a short time and maybe it was luck, insider information or something else. The Question is, can he repeat this over time. Otherwise he will lose the money very fast.
Never heard that said better, muchless said. Amateurs think they might know but really haven't a clue. For better or worse at times.
This is a quote from Jack Schwager, he nailed it. I don't want to adorn myself with other people's laurels
