You have it totally wrong. Without the Oxford, you are grouping eggs and fruit salad as if you'd like to eat them together at the same time. If you replace eggs with cars, it would make no sense.

Whoever taught you that a, equals and? A comma separates the sentence fragments. It is a punctuation, not a word.
But the "and" is an operand (that is not the true term, it is more like a pejorative or conjunctive, something like that), and at the end of the list, the AND suffices for a comma, because there is no continuation of a list! You need more funny in your life. Anyways, the Oxford comma is BS, we'll deal with the single-space separation of sentence breaks, and that's it. Baron ain't changing it. Dry oatmeal! FUCK!
