$2,500 to $1M in 180 days

  1. its not gonna happen, sorry. You need some serious compounding to reach $1 mill. If it was $100k to $1mill within 360 days than it would be more believable, even than, that would be a far stretch for for the professionals out there that are consistent.

  2. It could happen, so long as you were consistent, disciplined and had a good, basic system.

The difficulty comes in controlling your psyche and emotions, and, believe it or not, not sabotaging yourself.

But it could happen ... just not by this douche.

I think the title is a mis-print as it should read: $2,500,000 to $1M in 180 days

    :D

This was one of my posts on OANDA...

    Trading days per year = 365 - (52*2) = 261

1.5% per day windfall on $1008 principal:
    1 year: 49,102 (small fries)
    5 years: 276,468,507,100 (~276.5 billion)
    10 years: 7.583 x 10^19 (~75.83 quintillion)
    20 years: 5.704 x 10^36 (~5.704 undecillion)
50 years: God makes an appointment with you to restructure his finances.

1.0% per day windfall on $1008 principal:
    1 year: 13,531
    5 years: 439,393,187 (~439.39 billion)
    10 years: 191,534,099,800,000 (~191.5 trillion)
    20 years: 3.639 x 10^25 (~36.39 septillion)
50 years: You own real estate across several different nebulas.

0.5% per day windfall on $1008 principal:
    1 year: 3,705
    5 years: 676,349
    10 years: 453,817,999 (~454 billion)
    20 years: 204,316,246,300,000 (~204.32 trillion)
    50 years: 1.865 x 10^31 (~18.65 nonillion or approx 18,650 billion billion billion)

So you see, even at my comparatively tame levels the system was already beyond the realms of pure ridicule. What snapped me out of it? An 8K account (6K deposit + 2K earnings) completed deciminated.

On the other hand, this $2500 perhaps may just turn out to be the best $2500 ever spent...on a lesson in adjusting perception and perspectives which applies to both life and trade.

The insight was priceless. If given the choice to re-designate the appropriation of those funds, I would gladly choose to flush it down the forex gurgler.

Each and everybody's wake up call carries its own individual price tag; some are steep and others are shallower. Nevertheless, it's an unavoidable rite of passage for the aspiring trader.

  8. I see these posts all the time and can't help but laugh at them.

First off, you would run into liquidity problems long before you ever hit that trillion dollar mark.

You honestly believe that there aren't traders out there who can average .5-1.5%/day on a small account ($1 mil or less)?

Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean others can't.

This is one of the funniest threads on ET I kinda of miss him.

To EagleFutures08 AKA GERMANTRADER: we know that you couldn't sell icecreams in a kindergarden so why hide with 5 extra screen names ?

Don't worry about your "reputation" , it is not like someone here will give you a job as a head trader for a hedge fund.

I mean for one reason or another you are a star on Elite Trader, so why not post the final results of your trading ?

Maybe some of us could finally learn something from this thread.
