Actually I am not happy with them and think that there should be a product recall. After some weeks of use the stands do not hold their position and are not as stiff in the joints to reset them to where they will hold. Time to write Samsung a letter. (which letterhead do you think I should use?)
I didn't know you were having trouble with them.... was just thinking about how you could plaster the whole wall with Hanns-G 19"s for the cost of those 2, 970Ps.
I used onrebate.com to submit my pcconnection.com rebate, and opted for the quick rebate ($5.50 cost for this service), and sent in the rebate form on June 30th. Received the rebate check today.
FWIW... I've had my Hanns-G 19"er for one week. If I were getting new LCDs for a 4-monitor rig today, I'd seriously look at getting these... price, quality of display, etc. (They've got a 3 year warranty, so likely they will last as long as others.) However, there are also others available at Newegg for about $200 with good customer reviews.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=12&CMP=ILC-FPM05 there plenty of monitors on sale starts from $99. don't know what is going on, but big screen plasmas and LCD also fell like rock. been at local BJ's yesterday-42" are around $1600. very qick drop from 2000-2500
From what I've read, there has been a significant oversupply in LCD product so far this year. It's pretty amazing how low some of these LCD monitors are now selling for. Can't comment on the larger size stuff.
You can always get one of these. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?type=product&id=1109233323156 But, they are much cheaper on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Neo-Flex-Ergotr...ryZ51052QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem P.S. Got mine today. Ran the pixelbuddy program, (google for it) and found no dead pixels. Its a good looking monitor considering it has the integrated speakers. I like its looks better than the 196D model that I bought earlier, and subsequently sold on Ebay for a small profit.
