  1. The rich need to be taxed more, they have all the wealth.
    --------------------

    Tax or philanthropy?

Corporate sponsorship or gov't run arena's?

Bill Gates/Buffett donating money or gov't programs?

Gov't think tanks or private think tanks?

    Who'll sponsor the arts?

    Private wealth built great libraries.

Do you think the gov't could run a Ronald McDonald house?

Suppose we taxed away MCD profits.

    The list is endless.

    Don't republicans favor cutting/curtailing entitlements?

Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and the forced Healthcare mandate are all entitlements that are unsustainable in a free economy.

You want guaranteed income in retirement? That is socialism.

  3. Debate over taxes is a distraction. It's the spending that has to be taking care off.

Fix spending, then fixing taxes will be easier.

That makes sense. Get spending under control and then tax an appropriate amount for that spending.

Its just a little disturbing to see hardcore republicans say they want guaranteed retirement income.

Among many other problems is this simple yet impossible to overcome obstacle. There's NFW the politicos are going to give up the power to punish certain behaviors and reward others that they get from a complex tax code.

NFW. Not now, not ever. It's much more likely that Elvis will land his spaceship in DC and do a free concert with his All Bigfoot band.

  6. Republicans want to borrow money to cut taxes, Dems want to borrow money to spend.

We need to throw them all out.
