LOL, not only do you sound broke, you sound like you need a hand out.

Ohh the revolution may be coming but it isn't the revolution your wanting Olias.

This is America and American's are not going to allow Socialism or parasites destroy the country. We may push your sorry asses up north and keep you contained in your Progressive states.

I have no problem with all you ScumBag Liberals living in NY, IL, MA, CA, et all. I hope you will be happier than pigs in shit. You can pass all the "EQUALIZATION" laws you want. And all the companies that want to stay and pay 60% in taxation, all those individuals who want to be robed of their hard earn money can live in your paradise OLIAS.

The US will break up into individualized territories, breaking away from FED GOV in the future. United will no longer be a word used.

I think this is a good idea. Let the Scum bag liberals and Freeloaders live in the ARea's the are now..... and allow the Capitalist and Producers to live in states like TX, AZ, et all.

No one, including Ron Paul, is talking about cutting everything overnight. It has to be gradual. But simply shutting down many overseas bases and pulling out of conflicts (i.e., sending troops home) would bring a significant savings. Then a reduction in force could be done by a hiring freeze and not replacing troops as fast as they retire or take separation packages. The same can be done with entitlements, e.g., grandfather SS benefits (perhaps for those 6-12 months away) but then move up the retirement age more aggressively. It's way out of line with life expectancy, which was the idea back in the 1930s when SS started. Back then, 65 really was near the end for many people.

These kinds of things would bring some big cost savings in the coming years. But I’m not holding my breath. If we do make big spending cuts, it will happen because we hit panic mode and are forced to…which is never ideal.

    Get a friggin' grip...

TexASS produced Lyndon Baines Johnson, the President who gave us the "Great Society" -- Medicare, Medicaid, the "War on Poverty," federal education funding, gun control, the Clean Air Act, the Foodstamp Act. He liberalized immigration policy too.

And, he escalated our involvement in that undeclared, unmitigated disaster AKA the Vietnam War.

The federal spending for all of that crap ultimately got the U.S. into a situation where we had to go off the gold standard.

TexASS also gave the U.S. Enron, the gold standard for corporate corruption.

And, finally, TexASS gave the U.S. George Walker Bush. That simp probably pushed us over the edge for good.

IMHO, cram it up your ass, Tex...

  4. Yep, very valid points there.

EMR keeps talking about Texas, I don't think he can go three posts without mentioning that he lives there (as if we'd forgotten).

Funny though, he isn't a native born Texan. So really, he ain't a true Texan.

Yep, and he's as fucked-up as the rest of that sorry-ass state.

Nothing sums up TexASS better than the fact that it has the 7th lowest tax burden in the U.S., the highest state-GDP in the nation and yet is ranked 29th in per capita income, which is also lower than the national average.

Yep, you too can move to TexASS and enjoy a lower per capita income than both North and South Dakota.

Lower than the friggin' Dakotas, you can't make this shit up...

Well, the most comparable state to TX is CA, in terms of size and Mexican border issues. I'd chose to live or (especially) start a business in TX long before the Left Coast.

You can find plenty of faults with all the states. Are there any in particular that are prosperous and free? If you want to compare TX in terms of crime, entitlement burdens, etc., it's apples-and-oranges if you bring up somewhere like Utah or N. Dakota. There's a night and day difference in terms of demographics and geography.

And if you want to bring up fraudulent accounting, forget Enron. They paid for their sins. Look at D.C. if you want to see where the books are really cooked and the crooks get off scott free.

Sounds like you might have some other issues, though. Maybe you spent your early years in TX and got bullied a lot?

  7. The inappropriate title is called "lying". The bulk of that 18.5% is Social Security and it is funded with WAGE taxes. That system had to rely on a small infusion from its trust funds (money paid into it by worker bees) last year. It was not actually a drag on the REAL BUDGET. As a matter of fact, the only part of this 18% bauble that is not offset to some degree by taxation and fees OTHER THAN "the" income tax is food stamps. That is why "food stamps" were chosen as the center piece of the broader lie.

You ability to miss the point is astounding.

EMR's fundamental points are, according to him, that Texas is the bastion of Republican and Capitalistic ideals.

The reality is that until LBJ came along the entire south was predominantly democratic as a result of the Civil War. His "Great Society" legislation, especially the civil rights acts that abolished segregation and gave southern blacks the right to vote, caused him to comment "We have lost the South for a generation."

Enron was the worst, but by no means the only example of the Texas brand capitalism.

And, as far as being prosperous, guess again...

Only CT, NY, DC and PR have income inequalities that are worse than TX.

What about SS that does to those with disabilities (real or not) and SSI for "low income"? Those that reap the benes aren't always the ones that pay in. And who funds the huge amounts of Medicare fraud?

More to the story than you're portraying, too.
