17,500 Farmers Killed Themselves every Year in India

  1. Well research on the internet is all good and well. Provided it's from a credible source which is increasingly rare on the internet. If you had traveled there you'd have recognized the importance and strength of the family unit.

Get 4 or more day labourers together and all of a sudden they can actually manage. That's how people live over there.

On your point of government being corrupt, you are absolutely correct.
The government there does squander tons of money. Then again so does the US government........ bailouts, multiple wars, QE after QE.

  2. All that is true. I've known people that not only made those wages, but could save 50% of that income every month.

  3. Even if you can't vote, all you need is a baby to get all the benefits. Much better deal than a minimum wage job.

If you don't have housing help from a partner or family, a minimum wage job leads to homelessness in parts of the country. These jobs provide no benefits, though you may be able to live hand to mouth in perfect health, an illness can easily caused homelessness for workers on low-wage jobs.

  4. Water is not the main issue in India and many of the suicides have occurred amongst cotton growers who adopted Bt Cotton. Israeli agriculture has also had its bad years but it has plush welfare provision and many other sources of income.

  6. In USA, 1,000 farmers commit suicide per year. So my statement "Without farmers there will be no world economy. Farmers of all country are important for the world economy".

  7. Example, If USA has 10 farmers then India must be having 50 farmers. So farmer suicides in USA must be near to India farmer suicides.

These are serious informations which have been hidden from the world.

With that logic there is little improvement coming for the Indians. When third or second world folks start to point fingers back at the US/West then argument becomes illogical and leaves little room for correcting the dragging factors.

It seems you are trying to equalize the US and Indian agricultural sector................two entities that are 50 years apart in terms of development and modernization. Get Practical Man!

    :D  :p

  9. India is a agricultural country where 60% population is directly or indirectly dependent on agriculture.

But USA is highly industrialised country so less population is dependent on agricultur. Also USA agriculture is supported by heavy and big machines so less population is needed for agriculture.
