A day labourer on construction site makes Rs 300 a day which is barely USD 6. And this rate is the tops for unskilled. A skilled labour can hope to make Rs. 500 to 700 a day i.e. $12-16/day and these include plumbers, electricians, welders etc.

From the figures above one can image the level of exploitation of the labour and lower classes in India.

On the otherhand the recent 2G Telecomm scam reportedly cost Indian government $40B and above. Yes $40B in lost revenues. Corruption and exploitation of people is one main reason India is a garbage dump of not only Asia but the whole world.

Stupid Indians have not been able to follow up on the Israel's 'drip irrigation' technology whereby plants and crops are fed water in a special way that even 1/4th of water supplied is equivalent to normal amount used. Something to do with supplying water to plant areas where use is every efficient and no water is wasted.

Israelis have converted their desert into a greenery and CORRUPT Indians have wasted good $10B and above in an unfinished desert canal project that they have been working on since the early 1980s.

  4. That's why America is called the land of the Free. It's citizens are free from having to engage any productive labor.

  5. And yet they still manage to have a population of over 1 billion. Gentlemen the value of money is in the mind of the buyer and the seller. The dollar means nothing to Indian farmers because they don't live in America. The cost of living in India accommodates incomes of $12-$16/day.

Only hand to mouth, live in mud huts and when sick no money to buy meds or see a doctor. Not work for a day means skip meals the next day while working. Buying a bicycle a luxary and having a color tv is elegance. Wonder if you want to live like that and with pollution and sanitation in the D grade levels. India needs to invest $3 Trillion in order to bring itself to 2nd World standards.

  7. Wondering when your trip there was and how long you spent? You seem to know a lot about it.

Nevermind I already know the answer.

  8. In the US we have about 1,000 farmers commit suicide per year. (of course a much smaller population of our country actually farms not to mention we have 1/4 the population of india.) I wonder if we looked at the number of suicides per 100,000 farmers how different the numbers would be.

In India a day labourer earning Rs 200 a day would not be able to do any better than a mud hut and other variables noted. Do not have to go travelling just do some research on the internet and find for yourself.

Government has money but lots of it is squandered in waste and looted via corruption. Poor and middle class suffer............it is a jungle!
