exactly, i don't go with the fixed loss target if it goes a little in my favor initially, or if it goes against me, then back closer to be, i move the stop. I'd rather get out at -4tics than stick around for 10 more seconds and get stopped at -1. You have to be quick that's why most trades are very short.
Welp, hard drive failure on the system partition onf the trading machine last night so no trading for a little bit. I'll continue posting trades on the YM soon as I can, D.
Thanks for your explanations on stop management. As Mogul pointed out, every version of the ORB that I've tested on TS has been net unprofitable. Clearly, your aggressive/intuitive stop management (keep losses small and let winners run) is the key to your success. Keep it up!
High on TS was 789.00 not 788.90. You can, also, see the support and resistance that the 50's and even numbers provide. R1 is 788.90, so that's a little resistance, too. Tough break on getting filled, but that's all part of trading. btw: I have low as 782.80. What data feed are you using?
YM was long at 13454, stop moved to BE+1, price came down and stopped me out at 13455. +1 tic, minus commission (-1 tic, more or less) It's a wash on the day. I'm working on a script that will trail the stop by 4 ticks after the stop is moved to breakeven plus 1, so that I will scalp a bit more from a small positive move, like the one today. So far, 1win 2losses and 1BE (today) for -1 tick. EDIT: filled at 400 short, stopped out BE+1.
YM is 476 to 517. Looking for a break 1 tick above or below that... Filled at 5:53 short 474 (slippage) - stopped out 30 seconds later for -10.
