15,000 Dow

  1. The Dow will recover. There is an enormous generation of cash, current and latent, both domestic and foreign, to go into US stocks.

  5. Has anyone else noticed that today is the 5th day in a row that the Dow day low has preceded the day high?

When you get consecutive days of the day low coming before day high it usually suggests that the market is readying to go up or is going up.

    Is the big pullback over?

The DOW is off the approximate recent top of 10618 on April 6 and above the latest approximate low of 9852 on May 12.

For me sideways is just as good because of the usual wide gyrations.

Top Friday May 28 at around 10214. Overall I'm still very bullish.
There is going to be some more big stuff coming up on the upside thats for sure.

But where to in the week coming? What are the factors?

  9. I will go so far as to say Dow 20,000 !!!

I mean no disrespect cheese but you ask a silly question with very ambiguous guidelines.

As long as there is a stock market it will continue to go forward.

The issue is never WILL but always the issue is PRECISELY, WHEN and HOW.

The old adage of BUY and HOLD will always prevail in the LONG run and now with the invention of QQQ SPY and DIA's it makes it even that much easier.

But at the end of the day all that really matters is when you personally sell.

The stock market is always personal.

Samson77, why say I ask "a silly question".

It was just a general invitation to comment, reflect, try a forecast, or whatever concerning the DOW. Guidelines, not really, just a recap on the recent DOW numbers.

For example, Iraq doesn't help the investing mood. Transition to an interim govt, using their own policing and withdrawing US troops to a main base in Iraq would do wonders. It would be better if the US goes to the background and just uses airpower and rocketry to blow away recalcitrant insurgent spots when necessary.

Keep US troops off the Iraqi streets. Stop troop losses because sending body bags home is very unsettling to the nation at large.

Of course there are other factors, economic and corporate, impacting the DOW (without going into them in this particular post).
