The reason it's bullshit is because a 144 tick chart is not 144 anymore. You would now have to use a 216 chart to have a 144. This is because the exchange began to bundle their trades. So anyone using a 144 doesn't know that they really using a 90 something tick chart. I bet bullseye probably doesn't even know that.
Also of note is the fact that when using tick charts of a fixed size, every data provider uses their own custom calculation. So no two providers will have the exact same tick bars. A 144 tick chart on eSignal is not the same as a 144 tick chart on TradeStation.
Also, spitting 144 times on your hand before clicking the mouse to buy/sell is the best method against overtrading.
There is at least one false statment among these, namely, that the "atom bomb" (whatever that is) has exactly 144 neutron particles. No element of the Periodic Table has 144 neutrons. As for the rest, I'll take them as false. However, this one is not false: I have exactly 144 hairs showing through each one of my nostrils. Really.
What do you mean by "bundling"? Is it what is otherwise called "throttling"? Isn't your software the one in charge of apportioning the raw data the data provider sends? In other words, if I select a 1-minute chart, is it my software the one that separates the trades in 1-minute steps, or is it rather the data provider the one that sends them separated to my software?
144 is a good chart speed for scalping during the day.....nothing more ....nothing less.....my minimum scalps are atleast 1 handle...[6e] but just a good speed....if you have the experience and screentime....to be able to process the information quick enough.........less screentime......slower chart...etc...........no big mystery
