14,000 mostly-elite white Britons reverted to Islam?

I think many Brits are afraid of the large numbers of Muslims in their country and neighborhoods and are intimidated into converting. They would "rather switch than fight". Muslims are willing to kill Christians at the drop of a hat while Christians are just the opposite. So, it's much safer running with the killers than with the victims.

  2. You are joking right?

First you should question yourself why would the British Government allow so many muslims in their country first. The answer will lead you to the truth

And the truth will set you free

Well, I certainly can't see Islam getting a foothold in Ireland.
There is a saying, if it were not for whiskey, the Irish would rule the world.

Muslim hate and murder is world wide. Even Winston Churchill said, "Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."

"Indeed it is evident that Christianity, however degraded and distorted by cruelty and intolerance, must always exert a modifying influence on men's passions, and protect them from the more violent forms of fanatical fever, as we are protected from smallpox by vaccination. But the Mahommedan religion increases, instead of lessening, the fury of intolerance. It was originally propagated by the sword, and ever since, its votaries have been subject, above the people of all other creeds, to this form of madness."

  9. Hate and murder are worldwide, period.

    For a variety of reasons.

However, if Islam did not exist...they type of person who gravitates to fundamentalist fear based dogmatic totalitarian thinking would find another movement.

People want to blame Islam, but in fact Islam targets a particular type of individual. And they are successful in converting that type of person, because they appeal not to reason and independent thinking, but they appeal to the lost person who is looking for salvation, heaven in the next world, to be told what to do, a cause to die for, etc.

Why does one reasonable person reject hate filled totalitarian movement, and another person embrace it?

Careful analysis of the current totalitarian thinking movements, and those that existed in the past, will reveal the type of person who is attracted to the message.

I can't predict when, but there will eventually be a reformation in Islam, where someone comes along and emphasizes the spiritual value of Islam, interprets the same text in a way the shows the Muslims that the infidel they need to address is within them...not external, etc. They will likely die a martyr...but their message will eventually spread and change the face of Islam.

In the mean time, it would be a good idea if Americans demonstrated to the world that America rejects dogmatic, unreasoned, fundamentalist thinking. (Hint: Christians that wanted to nuke the entire middle east following 9/11, believe that the oil in Iraq belongs to the US, etc.)

When Muslims around the world see fundamentalist Christians rising in power, naturally they will react accordingly.

Every movement has a carrot that it uses to attract the followers, and most of these movement share a common element of a charismatic leader who knows how to push the fear button in the followers to whip them into enough of a frenzy that their lizard brain takes over.

It is also interesting to note the both fundamentalist Christians and fundamentalist Islamic followers are very similar in their type of thinking, reactive nature, influence on politics because of their self righteousness, etc.

    Is Islam a danger?

The rise of fundamentalist Islam and the type of intolerance that goes with it are just symptoms...not the cause.

Communism was the big red devil, now it is Islam, and if it weren't Islam, something else would take its place.

Optional, I disagree with the basis of your analysis.
