13 year old brutally beaten by three 15 year olds on school bus

  1. After looking at that video, it did look to me that the bus driver could have done more. It's unclear if he is black himself. If the school system's rules actually prevent him from stopping a brutal three on one gang assault, they need to be looked at for sure. It's typical however of the total lack of judgment among the education establishment. They suspend a kid for drawing a picture of a gun, but put this 13 year old on a bus with drug dealers he has reported.

I think if the driver had just shoved in front of the thugs, they would have backed down. Still, it's a bad situation. The school system could put them right back on his bus, and he would be trying to drive waiting for them to bash him in the head.

How did they know the kid had informed on them anyway? What genius revealed that?

We know if the races had been reversed, ie black kid as victim, white attackers and driver, it would have been a major racial incident that led all the evening news broadcasts. All the race hustlers, beginning with Obama, would have been elbowing each other to get into it.

I'm not expecting any demonstrations for this kid though.

I've spent the last 12 years volunteering in schools and the last 7 in high poverty schools with 85 - 95% black kids. Of the 5 - 15% who are white or "other" ... they overall are better behaved and more focused on learning. Now before anyone accuses me of being a racist I've mentored black kids. Next, statistically very few black parents ever come to parent-teacher conferences. Teachers try to track down the parents since most parents have cell phone (likely freebies) but many of these parents don't seem to care about how their kid(s) are doing. I had a kid 2 years ago as a 5th grader who I bet will be dead or in prison before he's 17. He was a thug, didn't care about learning and had little, if any, respect for teachers or other adults. Bottom line IMO is that if parents continue to bring kids into the world that they have no means of supporting -- financially, emotionally or otherwise then the kids repeat the same mistakes of their parents. People who complain that the kids in poor neighborhoods have inferior schools are missing many facts -- such as parents how don't help their kids with homework, who don't converse with the teachers regarding their kids. And whereas some work 2 jobs and are trying to make a better life many sit around all day doing nothing or else selling drugs or engaged in other illegal activities. These 3 kids are garbage. And had the bus driver laid a hand on them -- seeing how they are juveniles -- some shyster lawyer would likely contact the parents and sue the driver, the bus company, the school, the school district, etc. to see who had the deepest pockets so they could claim "child abuse".

And most of these kids have access to after school programs, tutoring, mentoring ... lots of extra programs. But if they make no effort then they will fail. For some of them there isn't much to do since they don't care.

I had parents who cared about what I did. I had rules as a kid. I knew there were consequences for idiotic behavior. These kids don't .....

Cut the minimum wage in half so fast food can hire two where they would have hired only one!

  5. Right.

The one thing you can do is establish a policy early on that violence and disruption will not be accepted in school. They have freakin' zero tolerance policies for everything else, even to the point of suspending kids for taking an aspirin, but somehow these thugs stay in school and terrorize the kids who want to learn.

We know all too well why. School systems run into problems with the pols, race hustlers, the Department of Education and Justice Department if they suspend disproportionate numbers of blacks. So they look the other way, and accept chaos rather than do the right thing.

It's the typical liberal approach of catering to the dysfunctional and making the repsonsible people pay for it. In this case, those paying are kids who have no choice but to go to those schools.

We need to face facts. Trying to educate these animals is a waste of money and it ruins the learning environment for everyone else. Judging from urban test scores, it's not like they're learning anything anyway. We need to go to a euro system, where you are put on an academic track at some point or you go to shortened trade school type track. Act up and you go to neither.

Liberals however would rather feel good about the one kid out of a thousand they "saved," than reflect on the thousands they cheated out of an education.

No! Their upbringing dictates much of how they turn out. I know black parents of kids I tutor who work 2 jobs. And they also find time to stay engaged with how their kids do at school. Sadly, that's not the norm. Crappy parents teach their kids how to repeat their lifestyle ... and that happens frequently. And add in the fact that 70& or more of black babies are born to unwed mothers and you have a problem from day one. Absent fathers should be "fixed" so they can't ever produce another kid.

You'd be amazed at how much time teachers waste trying to discipline kids who really don't want to be there, who disrupt the class or otherwise instigate. And who suffers? Those who do want to learn ....

I've seen parents of some thugs who come to school and get in the face of the teacher or principal and defend their kid .... whether they are that ignorant or in complete denial I have no clue.

  8. Everything you say is true, everyone involved in education knows it's true, yet they will continue to insist the problem is not throwing enough money down the same rat hole.

The alternative is holding blacks to the same basic standards we hold everyone else to, and that is politically untenable. Run for school board and say what you wrote and you will be labeled a racist and attacked.

The simple truth is blacks generally do not value education as much as whites or asians. We don't need massive federal programs to teach them to play basketball at a high level or do rap videos.

The media made it about the driver, because they don't want to make it about the black kids. Specifically, black on white "hate crime". It's a plain diversion. Sure the driver was a pussy. But they're not talking about the real issue, are they
