On March 11 1870, Louis Bachelier, the father of mathematical finance was born.

By using Brownian motion to describe the trajectories of stocks and shares, he probably came closer than anyone before or since to create a model of price movements that actually works.

Perhaps the trading community should mark this day in some way?

  2. prehaps you should frequent his nether regions and praise him a little harder. He made an educated guess as to price movements and wrote a book about it instead of actually trading it. Genius.

    thanks:cool:
