100 years to recover from Bush

  1. Once again ZZZZZ, just because media is run as a business, does not imply in any way that it is CONTROLLED by Bush!

And I will say it one more time so you can "get it". Online media is still media. They can, and do, print anything and everything. There is no governmental response, and therefor no CONTROL!.

    Geez.

  2. Well, you can try to make the argument that no one is controlled by anyone else because they make choices...but that would be sophistry as the choices are forced upon the people by the government's tone and public opinion.

The actions of government and public opinion impact business decision making, the media was forced to choose between making money or going after the truth.

Shareholders would not be too pleased if the media corporations had not made the money decision, so practically speaking the corporations had no real choice, as they were forced by the Bush administration and their attack on free speech (see free speech zones*) and genuine investigative journalism.

You gonna try to tell me that if the press really wanted to publish photos of dead soldiers returning from Iraq they were "free" to do so without consequences?

On line media and blogging is not mainstream media by the way, unless we are talking about web portals of the main stream media.

Mainstream media is a slave to the corporate demands which are influenced by government and public opinion, and that is hardly a free press...

Michael Powell who was a puppet of Bush advocated an updating of media ownership rules to reflect new communications technologies such as the Internet, a move that critics derided as increasing rampant media consolidation.

In addition, the Bush administration went after free speech under the guise of "obscenity" under the push of Michael Powell...

Michael Powell another Bush licker just like his dad was.

Now, if you are really naive enough to think that presidents, VPs and their henchmen don't call up the major media outlets trying to kill stories, threating to limit their access to the White House...then you are beyond help.

Presidents and their henchmen play politics with the media all the time...forcing them to make decisions they would not normally have to make in a free and open society.

  3. I give up. You are going to think the media is controlled no matter how much evidence is out there that it is not. You are probably a conspiracy nut too.

  4. No conspiracy theory, just a knowledge of how politics and politicians influences the media, especially the media that is bought and paid for by multinational corporations.

  5. OMG, I just recovered from Boosh (D). And it only took 0.003 seconds. Anyone can recover, unless they are waiting for a gummint program update.

Boosh (D) sure did and still has a lot of support from the Dems to carry out his evil deeds. Dems can't seem put up a fight. They get lured in by his evil charm like they agree with him or something or like there is no differ between Democrats and Bush (D).
