Yes, but not exclusively! Nowadays Soros makes few of these decisions personally. Soros and his Foundations have contributed billions of dollars to a wide range of political, educational, charitable, and other organizations. The funding decisions his foundations make are, in many cases, based on other than political criteria and he is not personally involved in each decision. You also must surely be aware that there is even more disinformation about Soros's philanthropy than there is information. So I would caution you to do your own research! How many of his books have you read? His foundations publish reports which list what groups and causes they have contributed to and how much. When the OSFs give money to groups or causes there is a reason. Quite often, but not exclusively, the reason is that those groups are actively fighting against suppression of personal freedoms by totalitarian government forces, or corruption within the Justice system or police. Do not allow yourself to be foolishly misled by extreme right nationalists. Soros has his own, personal political preferences of course. And he gives personal money to his own purely political causes as well. You probably know that he is a supporter of primarily the Democratic party in the U.S. and its candidates, but you may not know that that support is not exclusive. And too, Soros has given billions to purely humanitarian causes having nothing to do with politics. You should understand two things. One: I am a Libertarian, a real one, and so naturally George Soros is a personal hero of mine, and just as naturally he is despised by the alt right, white nationalist movement, and Two: George Soros has donated more than any other individual in human history to defend democracy and individual freedom. Soros is the personification of evil. He uses his vast wealth to fund rioting, violence, chaos and political intimidation and corruption. He is actively trying to foment a coup in the US. Far from defending freedom and democracy, he is perhaps its single greatest enemy. He belongs in prison.
I like this a lot, fhl. It is a revealing glimpse into the inner workings of your mind. Frankly, most of us would not be quite so unguarded. I rather admire your willingness to reveal your inner self the way you do. You have at least one admirable quality.
NPR one reason I really reason I cast a monster vote for Trump. Wanted revenge for all the wasted minutes of my life with only this local radio channel reporting on the race, and enduring the drip, drip, drip feeding of an obvious (to me) agenda all aimed to boost Killary and sink Trump.
Was your car radio broken? You couldn't change the channel? Creative professionals tend to be liberal like business executives tend to be conservative. Their brains are wired that way.
I don't listen to the radio anymore now I have a smart phone. Just Internet sourced stuff. At the time no other station was reporting as much on the race, while NPR was crystal clear and reporting nearly non stop. I really started to despise what I felt was journalistic bias/dishonesty, all the while fronting as an unbiased source. I don't like bullies, or bully pulpits, and felt Trump was being bullied. It's natural to stand up against bullies. Maybe they thought themselves standing up to a bully, but became the more dominant bully, imo.
Cute. Just remember, we could've paid for 10+ years of meals on wheels and PBS with Obamas $1.7 billion dollar ransom payment.
