Thanks for proving my point. Liberals only care about their own issues. To hell with everyone else. Which is exactly why you lost in November. Ignored the populist wing of the Democratic Party and embraced the hotstepper corp hack
George Soros, who according to bloomerg, has structured his finances for decades to avoid nearly all federal income taxes and in the process accumulated a reported 20 billion dollars of net worth, is begging for higher tax rates. (of course if you structure your finances to show no income, higher tax rates wouldn't hurt to bad, now would it?) Rich New Yorkers ask Cuomo to raise their taxes Associated Press, by Staff Original Article Posted By: mc squared- 3/21/2017 9:49:09 AM Post Reply Some of the wealthiest New Yorkers are asking the state to raise their taxes. Eighty people including George Soros, Steven Rockefeller and Abigail Disney wrote to lawmakers and Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo saying they and other top earners should pay more to support schools, roads, bridges and programs to help poor and homeless residents of the state.
Why would you expect any of these people to act unilaterally? Everyone should play by the same rules. Soros has been clear on this. He moved his Quantum Fund offshore because the rules permit it, and it is financially advantageous. Furthermore, he is among the most generous philanthropists on our planet. His philanthropy has had a huge positive impact on many lives in many different countries. He would be happy to pay higher tax rates, but only a fool would do so unilaterally.
How come every time the wealthy elite social do-gooders demand that taxes get raised -- the end result is that people with $50,000 to $500,000 in income get screwed, but the wealthy elites earning millions get new tax benefits/credits added for people with ultra-high incomes and land up paying less by the time the legislature is done with the tax changes insisted upon by the elites.
If Soros wanted higher taxes on himself, I don't think he would need to write a public letter to Cuomo asking for it. He could just pick up the phone and get any democrat to take his call. I think the letter is for public consumption, attempting to make the public think that they're for higher taxes on themselves when that's really the last thing they want. It's like Warren Buffett's continual sob stories on how his taxes are too low when her runs his entire life around minimizing his taxes. They're a bunch of frauds.
