And you have seen polls that would back this claim up? 250k was just an arbitrary number created by Obama, for claiming someone is a millionaire.

Obviously less people probably want the tax on people over 150k than 250k but thats because there is more people who make 150k, which shows exactly what mercor was saying, that everyone is simply voting to take someone elses money.

If all of this were actually true, then how is it that General Electric skates completely on income tax in the US, where the corporate tax rate theoretically is the highest in the industrialized world ? And Jeffery Immelt chairs President Obama's business roundtable ? And GE got yet another big tax break courtesy of Mr. Charles Rangel (tax cheat and Democrat) last year ? Democrats can raise the top tax tier back up to 75% like it was 50 years ago, and just like 50 years ago nobody would actually pay that rate. How many accountants and tax lawyers do you suppose Warren Buffett and George Soros and Barbara Streisand employ ? The simple fact of the matter is that this farce will not get straightened out and become "fair" until there are no deductions or loopholes. Both parties are very good at paying the deep pockets off with special tax favors. Please, this sanctimonious crap about Democrats wanting 'fair tax rates' is garbage. When Buffet and Soros and Hollywood and GE come out and tell us that they paid taxes on their gross income, then they have earned the moral high ground on the issue.

  4. I'm confused.

Fair share of what? The rich (incomes 250k) do not consume any more gov't resources than anyone else.

Yeah its always funny hearing commies like range rover spew that line, when the top 1% already pay over 50% of the taxes, and the bottom 50% pay nothing.

By saying he wants "the rich to pay their fair share" what he really means is that him and his other lefty buddies want to confiscate their wealth so they can hand it out to people who dont work, but vote democratic.

It would be refreshing if some more of these people on the left atleast had trhe courage to admit what they want to do instead of using flat out lies, like saying "we want the rich to pay their fair share"

The majority of those people don't pay taxes themselves. If raising taxes would solve our budget crisis I'd be all for it, but it won't. Congress will simply spend any increase in revenue AND MORE. We don't have a revenue problem we have a congressional spending problem. Much of which is congress bribing their constituents for votes with tax payer money. How is raising taxes going to fix that?

  7. How come when these idiotic threads start up there is never any historical charts and/or data that shows how raising taxes increased revenue to our government compared to cutting taxes?

    Bring it.
