whatever the rates are, according to Duke University, the number of American STEM graduates still is far in excess of the number of jobs hiring them the never ending repeated matra of a shortage of STEM graduates in the USA is a BIG FAT LIE that will never be true no matter how many times it is repeated and part of the reason that asian countries have a higher percent of engineering grads is that so much SMALLER percent of the country goes to college AT ALL bachelor's degree has become a false requirement for nearly every job in the USA - emplyers can demand a bachelor's degree even if it isnt necessary, becasue there is such a glut of college grads people will tell you you need a 'bachelor's degree' in 'liberal arts' without even having any idea what bachelor's or liberal arts even means
Pat Buchanan has an interesting take on immigration in general: We have been losing jobs every month for two years. Why, then, are we still bringing immigrants into the United States at a rate of 125,000 a month to take jobs from fellow Americans and compete with our unemployed for the jobs that open up? In the last year, 1.5 million new immigrants have come to take up residence and been issued work permits. Probably twice as many jobs have been taken by these folks as the 650,000 the Obamaites claim were saved or created by their $787 billion stimulus package. How do Democrats justify this? How can they justify bringing in another 1.5 immigrants in 2010 and another 1.5 million in 2011, when 25 million Americans they are supposed to represent are unemployed or underemployed? If Obama voters feel disillusioned do they not have valid reason? http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=34728 In my view the issue is this: In a protracted recession with record unemployment, is it wise to continue the old immigration policies? We have 1 in 8 Americans on Food Stamps. Millions will watch their unemployment benefits run out. Can our economy handle immigration right now?
First it has nothing to do with republican or democrat and the $787 billion whatever stimulus bill wasn't put through under Obama. Second how do Democrats justify this? -How did republicans justify a bailout and a costly war? Talk about short term memory loss. Its so nice to see Pat Buchanan saying one thing when facts point in the other direction. Maybe he should get his ideas straightened out a little bit and quit sounding like the typical moronic commentator. I think he's failing to see that lobbyists and special interest groups are running the show and that there are bigger powers than Obama.
I agree with you that he is a partisan talking head and will quickly play the blame game and focus on the other party. He does bring up good points though. But remember, Buchanan was no fan of the war. He does, I admit, lean more towards the Ron Paul camp - but not by much.
Guess, it won't surprise me when you become CEO of some company (in your dreams) and put all laid-off factory workers on H1B job. LoL You are just beating the bushes, no real point here.
Engineering and other technical salaries will continue to go down with increasing H-1B visa cap, off-shoring and outsourcing. There is no shortage of engineers and scientists; just a shortage of engineers and scientists who are content to work for salaries in the H-1B salary range. Get used to $20/hour for java programmer. Doctors are next. More reason to not give away your trading methods.
you're not even trying to make sense now, you've moved on to the 'ad-hominem' phase Indian style of arguement 1) Say h-1b is good for Americans 2) repeat lies when refuted 3) claim that any harm done by h-1b is deserved due to (claimed) sins of American's ancestors from the 1800s 4) attack the American who's argueing with you you see it over, and over and over on the internet i've never received any training from an h-1b, not ever but i've had to train many, some so-so, but many just outright WORTHLESS
no, actually he's not he used to be, but he grew out of it years ago he's the only one who tells the truth, that globalism and open borders kool-aid is killing the middle and working classes of the USA
