    My mistake.

In late October, I found a trading system that seems to be VERY successful at picking stocks before they move BIG.

In fact, over the past 3 weeks it has been almost 90% accurate, and in diverse sectors.

But, it seems that I have allowed this short term, untested with real money, "paper success" to go to my head.

I apologize. I realize now that the success is probably a fluke, and that I have no business keeping a journal of what is and is not working for me on an ELITE TRADING web site.

It is now clear to me that a high degree of accuracy on paper over a short period is of no interest to anyone but me.

Again, I apologize. I'll iron the details of this system out on my own, and I'll try not to bother you any more.

Best of luck to you all. :)

That's it? A biting tongue-in-cheek post that I'm just SURE set them straight.... I'm betting they're both out helping little 'ol ladies cross the street, right now as we speak. Yep, they're changed men.

Don't let these clowns bully you into stopping the journal. They have nothing better to do than to get on here and bash your honest efforts. You have just as much right to post here as they do.

Don't let the last thing you do here be running off with your tail between your legs.

STAND UP FOR YOURSELF MAN.... KEEP POSTING.

    Don-

  4. Yeah Dogg. Keep posting and explain the methodology. I'm about to start an astrology market divination journal.

  5. I totally agree with the KEEP POSTING crowd. Old timers or newbs to a site should encourage not discourage learning as learning works best when idea's are shared.... and things really can be accomplished united versus divided.

  6. probably a good idea. nothing against you but those of us that have been around here a while would like to keep this a site where pros will hang out. newbees running papertrading journals is probably better done elsewhere.

    Don,

I appreciate the support, but the fact is that this system is NOT tested beyond a few weeks.

And, the success I have seen may only be a fluke.

And, I have only been looking at stock charts for about 3 months, total.

So, I am VERY green, and it is/was very arrogant of me to post.

And, maybe I have no business on this site...

... at least not until I can PROVE that returns in the 900% per year range are possible with this system.

    On the other hand ...

I posted all of the picks that I made today, and it would be a shame to start a test and not follow it through (even if I was wrong to start it).

So, let me tell you about today's picks.

Many are Semiconductors and some of the press are saying that semiconductors are currently overbought. But, my indicators say that semiconductors will "rest" a little, then take off. (If I was using real money, I would wait for the "rest" to be nearly over, then get in.)

To improve test accuracy, I did try to pick a few from other sectors.

Over the next few weeks I/we get to see if my indicators/system is right or if the press is right. And, I get to have my ego handed to me for every pick that is wrong (which I am sure some are).

Plus, I am shooting for an average of 10% or greater on these picks. So, we also get to see how well this system does at finding big movers.

Personally, I am 100% sold on the fact that this system finds big movers, before the big move. But, I am only 60% sold on the idea that it will also accurately point out the direction of the move.

One other thing I still have to figure out, is how to not have to sit in the stock so many days/weeks before the move?

So, to summarize the test in this journal:
    1. What percentage of these picks move in the correct direction, keeping in mind that all current picks are long?
    2. What percentage of picks move 10% or greater?
    3. What is the average percentage move?
    4. Taking time in the position into consideration, what is the average dailly return when using this pick system?

(vhehn, Newbees spend LOTS of money with this site's advertisers. So, why don't you ask the admins/site owner's if they would like you keeping this site only for the old pros.)

  8. why dont you use the site to learn? read everything here and try to learn from the pros who are posting ideas backed up by real money.

Something just occurred to me. I have been rude ...

    vhehn & bitstream,

Why don't you make 40 picks on one day, and lets see how you do in swing type positions, over the next 13 week or so?

This would be a great opportunity for you to use your experience and knowledge to educate a lot of people. And, at the very least, you could greatly enhance your credibility.

I've been looking at stock charts for three months. I am sure with your years of experience, you can improve on my results by many times over. How about it? PLEASE, show the group how it is REALLY done.
