I have no problem whatsoever with TFT's daily political synopsis of things.
Every poster down here makes valid points from time to time. Some more often than others obviously but still, I try to take it all in. Its not only entertaining, but as I told B1 in his journal thread.... if it starts looking like Trump will in fact lose.... the S&P will do a 15% pullback at least. That could happen overnight with the right catalyst. So its good to stay abreast of these things and listen to everybody. Ocho, TFT, you, Piezo, Tsing, all the rest. Just panning for gold in a river of gravel H4... as always.

  4. Indeed, and even though I have said this six times already, I am going to go again:

The good news for Biden is that his numbers remain very high.

The bad news for the party though is that they see he is not going to make it but don't like the others below him all that much so that is why they have not migrated. That is a bad combination. Eventually- and that time has come now- they will migrate to one of the others such as Warren but they are gritting their teeth as they do it. Right now, Warren is increasing her numbers by raiding Bernie's voters. Joe is next, such as right now this week. She doesnt need all of his voters, just some.

Unlike the others, Biden's whole shtick is that he is supposed to be the loser who can nevertheless beat Trump. Yeh, okay, Joe. You have had your little fantasy, now maybe just work on beating Warren and take it from there.

Is there even such a thing as a Biden rally these days?

  5. AOC to endorse Bernie Sanders for president

The Comrade is bringing out the "big guns" now. Yep, Comrade Bernie is wounded and running out of bullets so he is attaching his bayonet and about to go over the top for one last hurrah. Order of Lenin in process. Looks like the old dog is going to get the most-coveted endorsement in town. Well done Comrade.

I think that one of our forum members, keeps a picture of her "big guns" as a screensaver. Not sayin that's a bad thing.

It's not that Bernie is going to win anything in the end, but he got a plumb that Warren would give her left nut for and has been trying very hard for it. AOC's endorsement will slow down the migration of voters from Bernie to Warren. Not completely of course but on the margins, and the margins mean a lot in elections where every point counts.

And Sanders had a prize in his pocket that could boost him, rather than Warren, among voters on the left. During the debate, he teased that he would have a "special guest" at a campaign rally in Queens on Saturday. That turned out to be New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as The Washington Post quickly reported, one of the party’s most influential young liberal voices.

  7. I see that bloomberg news reports that Omar is endorsing the Comrade too.

So that means that is going to be a Squadfest. With the others to come.

I am pretty sure that that black radical woman in New Jersey who killed a state trooper and fled to Cuba will be endorsing him soon. Not sure yet.

It is too bad Buttigieg is gay. The more I listen to him the more I like the guy. Plus his resume is stellar. But we not ready yet for a gay commander in chief.

  9. I think the support being thrown to Bernie is misguided. he is a faction of the party getting way too much airtime and support. If he has ideas about Wall Street and Health Care they should be developed through his position in the Senate where minuscule common ground can be found to develop some reforms. Wall Street got a free pass in 2009 so no one is really crying over them.

Last night in the debate he simply said the same things he always said but did he have anything new on the economy, foreign trade, international relations, immigration, or real solutions.

    Nah.

Bernie is a bigger thorn in the side of the Dem party than Biden is.
