The more taxpayers get screwed by these idiot politicians trying to prop up zombies like aig, the greater the liklihood of transtax becoming reality. Somebody has to talk some sense into gummint.
Who's on Pelosi's 'bad list?" Non other than Mr. Peter Defazio according to this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090302/pl_politico/19481 6. Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.). The squeakiest liberal wheel in the House has always been more than willing to articulate his differences with leadership. But his role as the lone Democrat to switch from âyesâ on the original stimulus bill to a ânoâ on the House-Senate compromise was viewed as grandstanding in the speakerâs suite. DeFazio, who chairs a subcommittee on highways and transit, makes a compelling counterargument, saying he was betrayed by Pelosiâs acceptance of lower-than-promised allocations for infrastructure representing 8 percent of the total package. Just an FYI but pretty funny nontheless -Guru
Read LOSING GORDON GEKKO article in National Review mag. It's story about Republicans,Democrats and Wall Street. Trans. tax will never happen. Please and stop this thread already.
This is probably good news for the transaction tax -- it seems like Pelosi and DeFazio are not fond of each other. http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090302/pl_politico/19481
DeFazio just on CNBC on curbing the "gambling" on Wall street..........."let them go gamble someplace else"
Watched it too, he is absolutely clueless, but scary. I think the best way for us to make a statement is to all donate $1K a piece or so to whoever runs against him in his next election, which hopefully is soon.
