  2. With the FDP in Germany opposing the TT, can anyone explain this,
" Kampeter said German Chancellor Angela Merkel wanted an international solution to pay for recent and future financial sector bailouts, adding: "Anything else does not have the support of the government." "
Is Kampeter saying that anything other then the TT is opposed? Earlier on in the article he states that a bank fund is being opposed. Is Kampter with Merkel or is he part of the FDP

Not good. That's where you see that most politicians are stupid ideologist and not economic technicians.

This type of fund has a chance of working contrary to the Tobin.

  4. Looks like some positive news though, important thing to remember is that the agreement has to be global and it has to pass in each government.

  7. Point number 7, "opportunities to use the markets" makes me nervous, I do think that something like a Tax would be clearly mentioned and that the markers refer to jobs and tech, but on the other hand it seems like a rough draft as the targets are referred to as X and Y also the end of point 8 mentions funding coming from public and private sectors including alternative sources.

  10. I am watching the climate news tick by second by second and it seems every few minutes there is a new draft just waiting for approval by China and the US. Under the funding part there is no specific mention about tranny tax, but the use of alternative financing is in there which is a direct referral to the tax. So tis kinda of a wash so far.
