Looks like there's some talks of this tax, I never really trusted the source and they claim 2% but I figured I'd post anyway, http://www.prisonplanet.com/final-copenhagen-text-includes-global-transaction-tax.html
I call complete bs on the above article. For one it says Obama to bypass Congress (that can't happen). It also says there's a transaction tax in the final draft? -Guru
I tried to comment the same thing, but surprise, my comment is disallowed. This is nothing but a fear-mongering author on a fear-mongering site.
No where in his remarks did he indicate that the funding of this plan would come from the financial community: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/12/18/obama.copenhagen.transcript/index.html
A couple housekeeping issues: The first post in this thread has been updated. Please give it a quick look if you're a new visitor here. http://www.tinyurl.com/TransactionTax is also a shortcut to this thread.
2.58pm: It's official: the talks will go into the weekend. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/blog/2009/dec/18/copenhagen-climate-change-summit-liveblog
The Hill article praising DeFazio. Let's praise him, too. http://thehill.com/homenews/house/72889-pelosi-rahm-do-not-scare-rep-defazio
that's where the credability issue comes in there have been many issues in the past. At least we have more people thar are aware though.
I had a comment rejected on a different trans tax article several days ago on prisonplanet. Not tin foil hat enough.
well i knew he didnt like traders but he just basically said i hate rich people they all suck. lol yeah good luck passing something that those exact people you hate are the ones pulling the strings. its like a reporter who says your team sux and has to go interview you after the game with a straight face. geez buddy atleast hide behind the scenes a little bit. but i will say this defazio has balls no brains though
