HAHAHAHAHAH! By far the best post in this thread...imho. Please feel free to hop a plane down here to Panama on on of those trips
Math looks better. I have never traded that many contracts in one click. Looking at the depth of ES, it should be possible, but I'm positive you'd push the market around, and it might not be in your favor (guessing here.) If you were really trading that volume per trade, I'd look at four move ins of say 78 contracts. Think a trading zone rather than an absolute one entry target. Scale it - scale out.
Yeah... get right on that. And then you too can have an equity curve like the one I got by testing Hershey's "P,V Boolean relation."
Come on Jack, that's NOT the reason you're asking. You're fishing for an opening to bring in your oft claimed SEC insider trading citations which resulted not from insider knowledge, but from your sheer brilliance (the P,V Boolean relation perhaps?) you sly market wizard!
someone suggests I should read Ryan Jones http://www.invest-store.com/cgi-bin/elitetrader-bin/moreinfo.cgi?item=10351 I looked at the table of contents. It looks like this is exactly what I need.
Hi Tums, I've done a little model to check if your chalange was possible. Starting on Sept 1. I've selected YM, ES, NQ and ER. I'll split the 50K in 4. And consider 2K as margin per contract. I've also calculated 20 MA of the daily volatility of each of those markets, to know if I was taking too much of the daily range. I've supposed a NO edge Trading. Basically you toss a coin to LONG or SHORT. (You can change this 50% edge acording to your own. ) Commissions are not included, you can suppose they are part of your edge, and lower it. Stops are placed at % of the Target gain, which in turn is a % of the daily MA. Supposing you have a 50% edge, a target of 14.18% of the 20 MA Daily Volatility, you should be able to get DJIA 17.09 NASDAQ 2.95 Russell2000 1.32 SP500 1.27 point per market, including the stops. Starting with 6 contracts each and ending with 84 in the DJIA, 37 in the Nasdaq, 349 in the Russell, and 42 in the SP. (2 trades per day) You should end with $1,000,032.33 Obviously if you have a better edge than 50% then change parameters and adjust strategy. (Blue numbers are constants ) See attached file.
I don't think 300 contracts would move the emini S&P 500. He could scale in premarket and after hours. Then scale out a few contracts at a time without anybody noticing. But trading the full 300 contracts would not move the emini S&P 500. It's too liquid of a market. Maybe emini russell or one of the other emini's.
Actually, my TRILLION DOLLAR STRATEGY, written for TradeStation will do this. Trading FOREX, with 100 to 1 margain, you can turn $1,000 into a TRILLION DOLLARS using a simple entry technique. Of course, there is a small problem moving lots of money around, but getting the first million or so is no problem.
