0 commission trading plus options in Canada

  1. I spoke too soon. No ability to use the underlying as a trigger. Also can't open up a spread as one trade...and no risk profile to calculate daily decay/profits etc. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That's Canada for you. Not progressive. We always get the s**t end of the stick when it comes to choice. Slim pickings when it comes to just about everything in this country; pathetic. Of course, $0 commission trading is already available in the US (and has been for some time now), and I'm not surprised at all that it isn't here. WS, QT, and IBKR can continue to bleed us every time we make a trade. No access to ToS either, which, from what I've seen (at least from a user-friendliness perspective) is a far superior platform to TWS. Definitely one of the more popular trading platforms. It'll probably be another 10 years or more before we get any $0 commission brokerages here.

$0 commissions but $1.25 per contract. Same difference.

  5. Wealthsimple gave me the deep-discount on Options Trading for my TFSA as I had over 100K in there. They also gave me the free USD accounts (and free conversions), as well as other sub benefits for being a 'Silver' member?

My account is under 100K today due to the big crash again in commercial real estate (big concentrated positions). Seems my silver status is still in effect though. Looks like they are including my Crypto holdings as well as the TFSA for total asset value held.

I have yet to use their options though. You can only go LONG (unless you get creative- at least inside registered accounts), and it is only available on certain stocks.

Questrade is damn expensive. Just buying stocks is $5 + other fees.

    I love IBKR...

Tasty has been saying they're coming to Canada in a few months (but they've been playing that record for many years now).
