Years ago I traded stocks & futures on TWS, It was the best I could find in Canada at the time. Never used TOS as it wasn't available in Canada at the time. TD Ameritrade shipped my account back across the line to Greenline as I was trading from Canada. Went to IB and never went back to TD. Changed trading style to swing trading and dropped IB.
If you are in Canada you can still trade tos. It is miles ahead of any other platform I have used for options. For TA I use trading view and then just place the order on tos because you can place bracket orders that allow to set it and forget it. TD is apparently going back to the original tos, and they use tradingview charts...so that would be the ultimate blend. The kicker being they will only require 5k CAD versus 25K USD minimum deposit to use the platform. Also, no PDR in Canada.
I am Canadian. I have no interest in options. I'm well capitalized so the PDT rule doesn't affect me. I swing trade stocks so National Bank zero commission works well for me. I use stockcharts.com in the evening, place my trades and get on with my life. Decisions are made while the market is closed so very little stress.
Option fees are $1.25. Do they allow one click strategies such as option spreads? What is the platform like? From the video it looks pretty basic which isn't terrible if they have the right features.
"this was the only post on the options forum today…." A number of the larger SSAs went apeshit over derivatives commentary on social media - effective 9/15 - we'll see if it holds.
