  1. Good morning,
Is anyone day trading the SPY or QQQ @ TDAmeritrade with 0$ commission ?
I am about to give it a try and would like to know how it is working out for you.
    What's the catch ?
    Many thanks

No catch. QQQ, SPY.... high volume, narrow spreads. Just don't over trade.

  3. I am a total noob so forgive the stupid question.
Is it possible to sell short the SPY ?
What's the best way to do it ?
    Thanks

There is no catch and you would have to be an absolute FOOL to
pay hundreds and thousands in commissions as someone who
has no clue and is trying to see if they can make it work over time.

    Dont be a FOOL.

  5. Ok, I'll try not too be a FOOL...

The only drawback is you cant daytrade without 25K.

And lets be real, most people on this site dont have 25k.

    So futures arent all bad.

If you dont have the money then trade micro's.

  7. Looks like I can't short because it's an IRA account.
So index futures it is ..
Can't do the Micro because it's a TDAmeritrade account. They charge $4.97 on a Micro. Which is absolute thievery.
    Thanks for the reply.

Why dont you just put like 1000 bucks in an AMP account and trade micros
for like 78cents. Still high but to get your feet wet.

Although to be fair, you can just trade from the long side.

    nothing wrong with that.

Seeing as how I'm stuck at home; I've been day trading the triple leveraged S&P 500 ETFs.

My Brokerage doesn't charge commissions to buy ETFs but there is a Flat 5 buck fee to sell.

This would work for an account where you cannot go short as you can essentially short the market with the inverse EFT.
