Zooming into large plots [in R, perhaps?]

  1. I've got a plot of tens of thousands of datapoints and I would like to zoom into the plot. Is there any tool out there that enables plots of thousands of ticks and the ability to zoom into the chart to look at the ticks? Kind of like how e-Signal does it, but for custom data.

How does esig do it? Selection of an area with the mouse and zooming would be ideal.

With Ninjatrader you can set up two charts, one tick and the other time bars or whatever does it best for you. Set each chart to have global cursors, select the area of interest by clicking on the time bars and the tick chart will follow to that area... it's clunky and crazymaking though, but Ninja is freebieware if you are just charting. Ninja can import ASCII, not sure of other formats...
