Market did not rally after Russia. It rallied after last week's FOMC. It reached a point where it stopped caring about Russia.
Yes, so if you waited until FOMC you would have lost out on a good bit of appreciation. Buying on Russian invasion was the way to go, as I predicted.
NASDAQ is pretty perky these last few days. I haven't even looked at anything else. I'm all in, holding out for the top. But I'm ready for a reversal, too. Yeah I am not gonna make light of the plight of Ukraine, either. I really sympathize. They don't want much, just to be left alone and not invaded and conquered by a foreign army. Putin is definitely OFF my christmas card list. Hopefully somebody will whack him and a more sensible dictator will rise to power in Russia.
The sell the rumor/buy the news event around the FOMC, coming off the lows and with sentiment dire, was baked in the cake. The real test for US equities comes over the next 1-2 months, as we put in a potential lower high. With inflation raging and liquidity contracting, odds favor this being a sucker's rally.
