Their sicko logic is: w/o you (and many millions, and even billions, like you) there will be fewer carbon emissions... They, ie. a bunch of selfdeclared rich "elite" circles, and the lemmings they control, call it also "The Great Reset", ie. resetting (reducing) the World population... I don't want to kill people or impose any sort of fascist doctrine, but I do think the world is overpopulated. Carbon aside, too many people competing for resources (and by resources I include space to live) is not a good thing and is probably the root of a lot of conflict. So if there is a way to reduce the population by managing the birth rate, with the consensus of all involved, then IMHO that would be a good thing.
There is nothing unethical to do but educating the people (about birth control and family planning etc.) via TV etc. And this already works, so the World population will peak at about 10 billions and then fall back. Just research this development and convince yourself. There is no need for such inhumane actions by the eugenics AHs out there! And: when we soon (in few decades) begin colonizing other planets then every soul and our whole biodiversity (plants and animals), will be needed, ie. then even a big labor shortage will exist, b/c many will be needed as space colonists... Humanity has a bright future...
And that is the problem - an almost a 50% increase in the number of humans on the planet. I just don't think we have the structures (political, social) or technology to support that number of people at least not with a decent standard of living. Fully agree on the colonisation aspiration, which is very exciting, but that is some way off and it doesn't negate the huge challenges that our species will have if we hit 10 billion.
Maybe you are not up-to-date with the current World population: it's 8.1 billions. So the increase would make up 23.46%, not 50%. IMO there are enough resources for all. See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population
Yeah last time I looked it was around 7billion. Which just fits to show I don’t disagree that 10 billion people or maybe even 20 billion people could be sustained at some level but what about quality of life? Anyway it’s a moot point really, I guess it’s up to the rest of the 8 billion what happens next…
How's the quality of life in Gaza doing right now? Population increase invariably will lead to more conflict around the world due to population pressure in crowded regions and demand for resources.
