It happens more than once, just wait for sometimes to connect. I wonder if they are planning to do something about it. It is never good to have a frequent disconnection for their clients.

Usually when there is a problem, it will happen again and again. A few days later, the problem will simply disappear. Having a backup system is important.
Nowadays easier to just post when they are NOT having technical issues. Losses piling up from me from disconnections at random.
I have moved my IRA from IB back to Schwab (unrelated to tech snafus) - I must say IB was ok except for their commission on stocks when everybody is free, they still charged me a buck (sometimes 1.60?). Never had a technical issue except trying to navigate their labyrinthic website. The reason I move my money is - with Schwab it is almost guaranteed to talk to someone nice and intelligent under 5 minutes! With IB, fuggedaboutit..
