Just more procrastinating as usual. No need to worry...even if by next Friday there is no plan to get a spending deal in place they will just prolong it another few weeks or months, remember nothing can ever go wrong in the land of perfect, no matter how much debt the US piles on no matter how slow GDP growth slows they always have a way to make it perfect....so today they averted a possible government shutdown by extended it another week....just a bunch of Fu$king games is all this is, like little kids on the playground.... The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday overwhelmingly passed stopgap legislation to avert a government shutdown at midnight and buy time on reaching a deal on federal spending through the end of the fiscal year. http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN17U26B
If I was Trump, anything he wants passed, now is the time to make a stand as Congress been screwing him at almost everything since he took office. Government workers get way too much income overall, more than outside of the government. Lay them off for six months, let them see how the economy really is like, they can be serving me my coffee and doing it like so many other Americans work part time jobs as we keep buying foreign made goods.
Is it ethical for President Trump to blackmail Congress with the wall and health care? This is an honest question. Would this be good for America? I know many of you are thinking about it. es
Working in the federal government is miserable, not least because you always have a bunch of people calling you lazy and overpaid. You wrestle daily with a massive, unwieldy bureaucracy which makes literally everything you try to do painful and hard. Some of that is unavoidable due to size, most is because of a patchwork of thousands of laws that were passed to put those lazy, overpaid government workers in their place that actually cost far more than they save in wasted man-hours. Plus these random shutdowns, hiring freezes, and wildly swinging budgets that limit you to a maximum 1 year horizon for everything and usually less because a budget isn't passed until 6 months into the year if ever. And you work off 75% of last year's appropriations until it is passed, which if that happens 9 months into the year means you get 2/3 of your budget for only 3 months. And I was instantly making twice what I made in government the day I moved over to the private sector, so at least anecdotally the government was getting me for half price. Plus I routinely worked 60 hour weeks (no overtime) in my govt job and really never do now, so I guess they were getting me for even less. I don't know of a single govt employee who took a pay cut when they retired or left civil service, which would tend to indicate that there isn't widespread overpayment, right? All that to say, you make federal government work miserable, constantly disparage the people who work there, then wonder why you don't have any A players working for the government! Sure there are plenty of lazy, crappy workers in civil service. And it's partially your fault, because you made it a job that only a lazy, crappy worker would accept! Something to think about.
Since I have worked for the federal twice and even did contracting work for them, spent over twenty years working for them, don't come knocking on my door cause over 90% of people I worked with were some of the laziest f*cking people on the planet and I worked in all 50 states, I worked for DOD, border patrol and several other agencies and often you could have bought anything on the open market much less than going through federal government. You need all bureaucracy otherwise I believe in my heart more than most would steal like they owned it. I worked for them so I could keep going to school, learn to trade and started businesses, I worked nights/days weekends in the field in buildings, in airplanes, I work my tail off when I had to and always rather work alone than being with all the lazy overpaid asses there, if it was private sector 90% would be fired. Only fault I ever did was not complain enough to politicians but they would not never gone against what is right so they lose votes. When there been "A" players, congress won't play along cause they all know they are on the take in some way like in re-election funds they get to take with them or cushy retirement they make would be at risk.
