As we foresaw a month ago.
    Good luck to the XFL.
Competition should be good for the consumer and perhaps (ironically) the players.

If you don't have too many commercials I will watch some games.

WWE CEO Vince McMahon announced in a Thursday press conference that he is bringing back the XFL in 2020.
According to McMahon, the XFL will be a “re-imagined” football game with eight teams, with the locations still undecided. He added that the league will differ from the NFL with safety issues, fewer rules, including a sped-up game, and the emphasis on getting back to football.

McMahon told reporters in a live stream on Periscope that the league will have “nothing” to do with politics or social issues.

“We’re here to play football,” McMahon stated.

XFL players will be required to stand for the National Anthem. McMahon told ESPN that players in his league will not be given the platform to take a personal stance while on the playing field.

“It’s a time-honored tradition to stand,” he said Thursday. “I think it would be appropriate to do that.”

The XFL had only one season, ending in bankruptcy and losing investors tens of millions of dollars. It's a perfect metaphor for Trump Presidency.

On this, I have to agree with Tony. People root for teams because they've been rooting for those teams all their life. The XFL doesn't stand a chance. Again.

  8. There are plenty of good-sized cities where they have no pro team but where football is very popular. Orlando, Raleigh, Birmingham, Oakland(soon), Austin, San Diego, etc. Also, McMahon is going for the TV market more than local. He sees a window of opportunity in the late winter and spring when there is no football. You probably are correct about the XFL's chances but who could have predicted how badly Goodell would screw up running the NFL? It's not everyday that the country's most popular sports league deliberately sets out to insult and offend its most loyal fans. Who knows what this moron does next?

Don't forget, the LFL has a cable contract.

    People will watch anything.

Maybe they can have the games going on simultaneously in the infield of the NASCAR Races since the races are so riveting...Off to the side they can have a pond for the professional bass fishing contests.
