Amazing. The dems death wish is on full display and continues on past the election. Hochul is not up for re-election. So pubs, if they have any smarts at all, will make immigration an issue in NY (already is of course). So the the only way that a disgruntled voter at midterm elections can express their revulsion at Hochul and the dems is to vote for a republican congressional rep. Now the binary thinkers here as usual will frame my comments in some stupid manner, for example as saying that NY is going to go red or something. As I said, stupid. No, I am saying that in a battle at midterms for republicans to maintain a majority, every frigging congressional seat is critical. And shit-for-brains Hochul just pushed a handful of upstate or long island seats over into camp pub. The pubs majority is already comprised of NY seats that flipped. Everyone knows that Adams was put in and is still in the crosshairs for going off the dem reservation and speaking against flooding NYC with illegals. https://gothamist.com/news/will-gov-hochul-remove-nyc-mayor-eric-adams-i-need-some-time-she-says
Hochul's commie NY blocked a pipeline that would have cut Northeastern energy prices in half. If Trump goes eminent domain in NY, within 12 months the prices are cut in half.
I wonder if anyone has ever done a real investigation on her. We know that Andrew Cuomo evaded one for a long time. Until he didn't. Ditto for Leticia James. She seems to like attention. I would give her some. Perhaps more than she wants. Lock her up.
CNN "legal analysts" are blathering away about how ny u.s. district attorney office lawyers and the judge hearing Adam's dismissal will and "should" fight the dismissal because they do not want Adams beholden to Trump while in office. But wouldn't the opposite outcome make him more beholden? ie. If the case were assigned to a special prosecutor or the court tries to force a prosecution (definitely rare) then that would cause Eric Adams to work even harder to please Trump so that he could get a pardon. And/or cause Trump to just pardon him immediately and flush the toilet right there. Where am I going wrong here? Or are the CNN pundits just being stupids? Also, lots and lots of prosecutors quitting in that office over this. Beautiful. Good chance to replace them with some quality people. Thank you for your service. Now get the fuck out.
The Adams thing has evolved into quite the spectacle and I would not blame Hochul if she dismissed him, or if he was impeached. The situation is such that the legal proceedings should have just played out. Now Adams who is very fragile is beholden to the Trump administration. I for one don’t have a problem with allowing ICE in the prisons. Give them a little desk somewhere and let them have at it. But I don’t live in NYC and I don’t get a say on it. And you know who else doesn’t get a say, the federal government. The people of NYC absolutely have a right to keep ICE out of their jails and Adams has no right to trade the will of the people of NYC for getting federal charges dropped. It’s all so corrupt.
The problem is though .....you would be impeaching him upon a mere accusation that even the state would not prosecute (if the dismissal holds). How they arrived at that dismissal is neither there. The result is the same. He has charges or conviction on record against him if the case is dismissed. So then what? Hocul is going to presume that he is guilty based on what, or she is going to hold court herself or if she does not that means that Adams gets no tribunal to defend himself. What a mess. I am not even aware of any impeachment process to remove a mayor in New York. You get to argue your case to the Governor after he/she tells you what the charges are as far as I can tell. Then by canning him- if she so decides- she ends out looking like she is the one doing the bidding for the dems.....ie. to remove someone who is resisting the immigrant invasion and giveaway programs and crime in NY. As I asked in an earlier post, does she think she is really helping dems in midterms by taking that position. ahhhh, I don't think so.
I don’t know much of the particulars but from what I gather Hochul would have to present Adams with “charges” and Adams would be afforded the opportunity to rebut, then Hochul would decide. Kind of a quirky system they have. In NJ, the governor can just take over the entire town. The question is what would rebuttal look like? In public? A trial like setting with witnesses? Then what’s the standard of proof? Preponderance of evidence, clear and convincing, beyond a reasonable doubt? I say throw the bum out for violating the public trust and be done with it. Trump will find some role him, maybe surgeon general or something.
Pretty much, except to put a finer point on it, the governor can suspend a mayor for up to 20 days without stating cause while charges are being developed. I didn't say it was pretty. Just sayin what new york law says.
Not sure yet whether this helps or hurts Cuomo. On one hand it gives Cuomo an immediate lock on the hard core dems who will not leave the plantation. On the other hand, it gives independents and disenchanted dems a place to go without having to vote for either a dem or a conservative. They can go with Adams. I guess there are nine candidates so far and I have not followed the others. The "Rent is too damn high" guy could be leading in the polls before it is over for all I know. I know one thing for sure though.....if Cuomo has eight opponents, he is going to hear the words "nursing home deaths" ad nauseam. Killing granny is an easy shot for them to take. A well-founded shot too. No matter who they pick- voters will have to plug their noses and bit and vote. Buy, hey, this is NYC with New Jersey next door. We would expect no less. NASDAQ futures down almost a 1000. Jezuzz H. Eric Adams ditches Democrats to run for NYC mayor as an independent https://www.axios.com/2025/04/03/eric-adams-nyc-mayor-democratic-primary-independent
