I worked as a prop trader for a couple years and apart from that I do not have any relevant finance experience. I am 33 years old and I want to be involved in the markets again. Would a CFA license help me restart my career in finance, or will I need more experience in finance along with a CFA?
CFA is for equities research and portfolio management. Check out the job postings. Math and computer skills are in big demand for trading.
Experience is definitely key but the CFA is useful knowledge and could certainly help you get your foot in the door somewhere in finance. If you have the time it can only help. ...it's also not a license, it's doesn't allow you to drive, sell insurance, or kill (Timothy Dalton style).
