Powerball jackpot soars past $1 billion, shattering previous records. Since Nov. 4, the Powerball jackpot has grown from its $40 million starting point as no one has won the jackpot. Such a huge jackpot was just what officials with the Multi-State Lottery Association, which runs the Powerball game, hoped for last fall when they changed the odds of matching all the Powerball numbers, from about one in 175 million to one in 292.2 million. By making it harder to win a jackpot, the tougher odds made the ever-larger prizes inevitable. Whew, this has got to mess up the heads of few of you. Keep buying and start praying!
This is gambling you are talking about, right? In that case, what about forming a "gambling syndicate" ?
...HOLY sheeea't -- i assumed ....someone would win that 900mil jackpot. over 1 billion. ...that is like some serious, serious cheese for just one normal individual. (lol -- i was kind of kicking myself for not buying a ticket tonight. -- it looks like i have a second chance now) i just want to buy a ticket, and save it,...to be a piece of History. the Largest US lottery ever.
this is a good story...in regards to Trading/Investing...it displays the power of Compounding -- an explosive force. ...a relatively small 40 million is now 1.3 billion. (it will probably be around 1.5 billion when the drawing takes place.) watch: It Could Happen To You, 1994 Nic Cage, Bridget Fonda lottery comedy movie http://www.crackle.com/it-could-happen-to-you
Don't envy the winners. They will be hounded by conmen, crackpots and all the rest until it is spent. Having bought a luxury house and about 3 expensive cars and half a dozen holidays for the rich they mostly waste it on drinks and drugs.
I was watching The Big Spin once, a California Mexican girl had won the right to spin for a $Million. The host asks her what she will do if she wins, will she go back to work? She says "Yeah I think I left my coat there".
