Why the confusion over ETFs?

    I was surprised to find that on June 21, TQQQ and SQQQ did not rise and fall in tandem. Their rise and fall are not three times that of QQQ, why is that? It's hard for me to figure that out. Can someone understand and help me? Thank you very much!

    I daytrade these occasionally and noticed the same on Wednesday.
    TQQQ gapped down but SQQQ didn't gap up.
    Reason >>> SQQQ traded ex-dividend ($.26 dividend) on the 21st.

    Difference is even more, on weekly+ longer.
    Even on a days data , call QQQ 1%; sqqq is more than 3%, +3.07% or+ 3.09%.
    TQQQ is [-2.96% ] .I'm using IBD data close to close, here, but principle is same on your data, also.
    SQQQ manager doesnt want it exactly 3x, that could or would bankrupt sqqq long term.
    That's in the annual report + related , also.

    Leverage etf with added call/puts, not exactly on the dot.

    AND in the unlikely event QQQ ever moves 33.334 or 34% in one day;
    dont expect the SQQQ/TQQQ to go bankrupt \
    3x is a goal , not a promise, the bigger goal is to stay in SQQQ or TQQQ business every day.
    For the portfolio ProShares manager anyway:D:D
