Hello, I've been learning for a while about stock options and wanted to open an account in the UK for this product but after hours of research I've not found barely anything. It seems IB UK would offer that, although not sure about their options research tools (if any) and they usually ask for a large initial deposit if you want to get started. Then I've seen Saxo (which offers options in futures, forex, commodities but not in stocks. What everyone seems to be offering in the UK though is either binary options, spread betting and CFDs, so I have a couple of questions: 1. is there a reason that you could think of why brokers don't offer stock options? wondering if I am missing something... 2. do you know any good options broker that accepts UK residents and with good research tools? Many thanks!
When the call option is exercised you have to pay stamp duty in the uk. Trade us options , much more liquid.
Do you know if you can trade US equity options and basic strategies like married puts with a US stocks with them as well?
Yeah I was going to say that. The stamp tax makes it almost possible to be profitable trading options. Not sure why anyone would.
